Beyond Blue’s Coronavirus Mental Wellbeing Support Service helps people deal with the impact of the pandemic on their mental health and wellbeing.
The coronavirus pandemic is causing an unprecedented and rapidly rising mental health burden on many people in Australia.
As countries introduce measures to restrict movement as part of efforts to reduce the number of people infected with COVID-19, more of us are having to make significant changes to our daily routines.
New realities of working from home, employment stand downs, home-schooling of children, and lack of physical contact with other family members, friends and colleagues take time to get used to. Adapting to lifestyle changes as well as managing the fear of contracting the virus and worrying about people close to us who are particularly vulnerable are challenging for all of us.
While such challenges can be especially difficult for people with diagnosed mental health conditions, it is perfectly normal for any person to feel concerned at a time like this. All of us should recognise that support is available, and no one should feel apprehensive about reaching out.
Beyond Blue’s Coronavirus Mental Wellbeing Support Service has been specifically designed to help people deal with the impact of the pandemic on their mental health and wellbeing.
The Government funded service, delivered by Beyond Blue, is available around the clock and is free to every person in Australia. The service provides access to a broad range of support services from online wellbeing tips, self-help tools to phone counselling from trained mental health professionals and peer to peer support.
To access the service please visit coronavirus.beyondblue.org.au or call 1800 512 348 to speak to a trained mental health professional.
